Clean Up the World: Beach clean-up activity

Clean Up the World - Official global campaign was first initiated by Australian Ian Kiernan in 1989 with more than 40,000 volunteers who collected 5,000 tonnes of rubbish from Sydney Harbour. A Clean up the World campaign is now taking place every year globally (including in Taiwan).

In order to reduce the levels of ocean pollution by proactively taking action, the Australian Office in Taipei sincerely invites you, your friends and family members to join all our staff to undertake a beach clean-up activity as a community contribution event at Laomei beach located in Shimen of New Taipei City starting at 1:30pm on Friday 28 Oct. We are pleased to invite visiting surf life saver Scott Harrison from Surf Life Saving Queensland to join us!

For those who interested, please come meet us directly at SAMELA cafe located at Laomei beach (address: 新北市石門鄉老梅社區楓林25-1號). Trash picker, gloves, shovel and garbage bags will be provided. We hope that you can all join us to have a great day together for a good cause. See you there! (please note that the event will be cancelled if it's raining)
