Win the Ultimate Gap Year in Australia

Students from Brazil, Colombia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan are being given the opportunity of a lifetime to visit Queensland, Australia for a 12 month education and holiday experience.

Queensland Treasurer and Minister for Trade Tim Nicholls said the competition will see the winner become an official International Student Ambassador as they promote the State of Queensland, Australia in their home countries.

“Queensland is known internationally for its sunshine and beautiful beaches but it’s also a great place to live, work and study,” Mr Nicholls said.

“We have world-renowned educational services and fantastic opportunities for professional work experience.

“This competition is also being run in Taiwan.

“The five winners will enjoy a 12 month gap year experience in Queensland including airfares, accommodation, tuition, work internships and holiday experiences.

“Ten runner-up places are also on offer, with prizes including language tuition, accommodation and work internships.

“To enter participants will need to upload a one-minute video to the Ultimate Gap Year website explaining how a gap year will benefit their career and how they will promote Queensland in their role as Queensland’s International Student Ambassadors.

“This competition is a Queensland Government-led initiative in partnership with Hello Australia of Brazil, Global Connection of Colombia, GCS Group of Japan, Parker and Steel of Korea and Jris Education of Taiwan.

“The Ultimate Gap Year competition will give students an incredible opportunity to study in Queensland, and we hope they will take home the message that our international education services are second to none,” Mr Nicholls said.

The Competition is opened to qualified international students within Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Brazil and Colombia. Entries for the Ultimate Gap Year competition close on 31 May, with winners arriving in Queensland in September 2014.
