Indigenous music exchange: Microwave Jenny visits Taiwan

Australian singer-songwriters "Microwave Jenny" joined us in May for the first ever Australia-Taiwan indigenous music exchange project, hosted by the Australian Office. Brandon Boney and Tessa Nuku from Microwave Jenny performed at the Red House Theatre in Taipei alongside Taiwanese Amis tribe musician Suming, who is from the Dulan area. They also performed and participated in workshops at Tie Hua Village in Taitung, Dulan Sugar Factory Café, National Taitung University, Juangjing Vocational High School and Woolloomooloo Café in Taipei. The project was co-sponsored by the Council of Indigenous Peoples.

Microwave Jenny has a Taiwanese fan base now and we hope they will be back for a return trip before long! Meanwhile, you can find out more about the duo and even listen to some of their catchy tunes here.
