Australian Research Council (ARC) plays a key role in developing Australia’s innovation strategy, facilitating international cooperation and managing a huge component of Australia’s R&D funding. The CEO of the ARC Professor Aidan Byrne visited Taiwan this Monday and delivered a classic Boomerang lunch talk on “Australia’s Innovative Strategy and the Role of International Cooperation”. Thanks also to our Taiwan government, business, academic and research institution guests, including Vice Premier Dr Simon Chang who delivered a vote of thanks to Professor Byrne. Like Dr Chang, we hope for further science collaboration between Australia and Taiwan. Professor Byrne also visited the Taiwan's Ministry of Science & Technology and ITRI (Industrial Technological Research Institute). After such a short first visit to Taiwan, we hope Professor Byrne can return for a longer stay.
